Horse Chestnut grown as a flowering bonsai.
I know Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) isn't a recommended bonsai subject due to it's large compound leaves which don't reduce well. However, looking at the mature local street trees, and frustratingly not being able to get a really close look at their large flowers at this time of year, I'm wondering if anyone has, or knows of examples, of it grown as bonsai purely for the spring flower display? It has lovely striped bark too.
