I'll include pics of my plants, my son had posted some in a different topic yesterday. I wanted to know if any of these could be grown indoors with a plant grow lamp. I have 3 flurosent 48" lights each with 2 grow bulbs. Two of these I have in a garden shed with no heat or anything. One of them I have in my basement. I have been taking all my plants outdoors when it is nice out and bring them in at night or if it is raining. I have no idea if this is the right thing to do or not. Or if I can grow these plants in doors with the lights or if they must be outside. Since I'm brand new to all of this any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

This is one I had planted in a different deeper pot and by suggestion on here I replanted it in a shallow pot but I don't know if this is what was meant. So please let me know.

That looks like an elm of some kind. It will prefer to be outside, rain, shine, snow, sleet, or hail, with maybe some mulching in and protection from wind in the coldest moths of winter in Illinois.

You do it no favors by moving it in or out. Pot is fine, but you'll probably want to look at a bonsai pot some time next year.

You and your son might want to join a near-by bonsai club. That's the best souce of info for newcomers to the sport. Here are the Illinois clubs:
