Corylus avellana 'contorta' Empty Corylus avellana 'contorta'

I just dug this up this afternoon from my mother in laws garden. The leaves are very big on it but it makes such a good winter show and the trunk was pretty good i thought i would keep it. I will reduce the lump on the top left later.

Nice trunk Smithy, a lot of people say its no good for bonsai, I have one in the making aswell butt in shohin size and the red leafed variety.

Thats a massive trunk Smithy. I've seen some bonsai with quite big leaves. And they look beautiful.
I'm sure your will make a nice bonsai too.

Nice one Smithy. As you say, it will make a superb winter image with the catkins and subtle red flowers. Very Happy
