Re: Sleepy Hollow tree.
Hi Jun,
Your composition is more of the "Scary tale style", I have also heard of the "erotic tale style", I have a privet (Ligustrum) in the later style.
Cheers,
Adam

Re: Sleepy Hollow tree.
Very cool concept, without a doubt the tombstones add a uneasy feeling to the composition. Thanks for thinking outside the box.

i would say RAD work, Jun, but.............
right now that would be like this tree falling in the forest and no-body around to hear it...

(oh... and hell yeah it made a sound !!!... we can't be so egocentric to think otherwise)

I really love it, if someone say "this is the bonsai by Tim Burton made" , I definitely believe that ![Very Happy](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_biggrin.png)

Re: Sleepy Hollow tree.
Is this one still together Jun? what species is this? you dont often see this type of tree on a slab, usually a slab is reserved for windswept, slanting, forests, landscape scenes, a lone hawthorn or a spruce usually look great on slabs too, but what you did here works really well.
im thinking of doing something similar with a Hornbeam, which is in a similar form to your tree. im still undecided whether it will work.
but the idea will be like this, a lone tree on a hill top. hollow trunk. broom form.

Re: Sleepy Hollow tree.
By the way, the species is Maba. ( black ivory) the bark is naturally black in color and it bears tiny fruits similar to figs.
