Don't do anything with it other than watering and feeding. Bring it to the South African Convention in 2013 for a workshop. We will make a very nice natural tree from it.
It is a popular misconception that bonsai HAVE to be short and fat and have to look like bonsai. It is possible to make them long and elegant and look like trees.
What an outlandish idea!

YukiShiro,

If I had Walter Pall say anything like that about any of my trees, I'd follow his advice.

Have a great week!!!

YukiShiro, definitely keep your itching hands away from the tree! as already said (in other words) by other members.
Wait for the hands of Mr. Pall to work for you! Because

Could someone please send a link to images of mature wild olive trees?

Thus far all the images on Google, seem to be short and fat Laughing
Thanks in advance.

More and more I get the feeling that shorter and well branched would be best.
Just a feeling.

I have cut back hard on this wild olive about 10 years ago and this is the result now. Is this really bad ? You decide. There are many approaches to bonsai and don't let anyone impose his way on you. Laughing

Cheers,

CJ
