Re: trees for sale
Mail order was how I bought my first pre-bonsai.
You could create a similar situation?
Best of luck.

Re: trees for sale
My club does member sales quite often. You could even reach out to clubs that you're not a member of and see if they'll let you sell there. Maybe you could offer to donate some of the proceeds for them allowing you to go in there. Will you still keep doing bonsai or are you getting out of the hobby?
Have a great weekend!!!

Re: trees for sale
if you are on facebook there is a group there called "bonsai Classifieds." I've sold 1 tree there.

Re: trees for sale
I'm told -- but have not verified -- that someone sells bonsai at the Tailgate (Farmer's) Market in Hendersonville, NC., so if you have similalr weekend agricultural produce sale meets, that might be a novel way to sell as tree or two.

Re: trees for sale
I use several ways.
At club nights,
start a for sale page on the club web site
start a blog or personal web site with a for sale section
ebay is a good launch pad for easily posted trees - I find you get a good price if the pictures are good
and always link from your forum posts, facebook, etc to your personal for sale pages
Have a few bonsai weekends at your place and invite friends - set up a for sale area with trees tidy and clearly priced.
If you cant be bothered with taking months to clear them bundle the whole lot, take them to a local nursery where you are known and do a trade in - I've traded 5 for a good one, 4 trees for 4 very good pots etc.
I found the worst thing for the overall quality of my collection was having too many trees (a problem common to many friends too) so reduction of numbers allowed the better trees the attention they need.
cheers Marcus
