I m new here from France
First of all , excuse my so poor english

I try to make my own pots because I have too much trees (not yet bonsais)

I should be happy to send you some ppictures, to get your opinion but I do not know ow to do?
please help me

what do you think of those?

I like your pots, especially the blue one and the red-brown that looks like paving stones or pebbles. It is unique. I'm not an expert, just a hobby potter. Has the blue one got feet? It's much easier to fire a pot without warping it if it has no feet, but all bonsai need good drainage, and it's better to add feet. When I have tried to add them with glue after firing, the glue always fails after about a year or so, from water. So the feet need to be fired on.
Keep on going, make more. You are doing very well if you are a beginner at this. Do you do other pottery? Have you had lessons? Cheers, Val Garth

those pot have feet, and big hole for draining and other small holes fore wiring (is that correct)

The blue one is coloured in the mass using two different colored "clays"

I like your pots. They are interesting. They look old, antique almost, which is very effective in bonsai. Are they ceramic, as I first thought? Or are they made from concrete, or cement? Looking closely, especially at the pale coloured one, I began to think it looked like it was made of cement. Very good, whatever they are made of. You will soon have all the pots you need . . .

Hi yes ure wright, they are made of concrete, some of them are coloured in the mass, some others are peinted with acrylic (I try to get the same result with concrete colourings without acrylic)

I still not have enought, I have got too much trees and even if I gave almost 3000 baby trees, i have still a lot of them, of different sizes, many grow in the soil and I ll have to breed them in a pot , (about 500) and mor are ever in plastic trays small one
none of them is ready to be called a bonsai, they are not finished
I have got them from mini yamdori (baby trees in a forest or on a highway rest area or a garde , bany means 2 leaves) or sewing them , I baugh seeds or got them on trees

and it worked

the problem is the time for repoting, so i do each sunday beetween november and march , I know that should only be done at sping, but it works well enough

that is just to explain that i really need a lot of pots

And as I have allways dream to be a sculptor...lol I do of may best

Hi Torca, omg you do need a lot of pots! And a lot of time for repotting! Have you got carried away with your hobby, or are you building a business?
I hope you can make these pots quickly. If each one takes a long time, it'll be too hard.

I make ceramic pots, just as a hobby to go with my bonsai hobby. When I make them on the pottery wheel, they are fairly quick, although adding feet and tidying them up later takes time. But when I hand build, to get rectangles for example, it's very very time consuming and would not be worthwhile if I were selling. Cheap Chinese pots are very available here in Australia.

Are you using moulds? Shapes to pour the concree into? I guess you have to do it that way. Much success to you. Cheers, Val.
