Would it be possible to give us some information about what we're looking at here? For example is it a show or a permanent display?

It's a show (the title says it) Almost all bonsai shows in VN are outdoor since some trees won't fit into a room

I agree please post more pics.
The second tree looks like a real strangler fig in nature, the thick root in front would have been the first root that it send down once it germinated in the canopy of another tree. And then slowly wrapping its roots around the trunk, and smuther the host.. till its free standing and the host dead and rotten...
The pots are also amazing, but I would use them for Alpine plantings, and not bonsai. I think the last pot is to ornate for the tree, and the tree looks lost in it,
so I think they should give me the pot, I will supply a slab for the tree.
Thank you they are amazing, post more!!

Thanks for that. What I'm really interested in is who owns really massive trees like these? Are they private citizens or traders or very wealthy people? Would anyone be able to enter a tree for the show?xuan le wrote:fiona wrote:Would it be possible to give us some information about what we're looking at here? In China and to a lesser extent in Japan I have seen very large trees in private collections, usually a business man with a garden staff.

Very interesting to see most trees from North Vietnam, the big ficus benjamina. Thanks for sharing.

As I know there are a lot of massive trees (most are ficus benjamina ) in North Viet Nam.
who owned precious trees are wealthy people, others are traders and private colecttors.
At the exhibitions in the North, visitors are freely enter for the show.
