"Hachi Gen" Black Pine Repotting Empty "Hachi Gen" Black Pine Repotting

My Hachi Gen JBP is just now starting to extend candles. I typically do root work when the candles of a pine are starting to push. All of my other pines have finished extending and are growing needles. I was waiting on this tree to start moving to dig it and put it in a growing box. Is it too late? Should I wait another year to dig it or can I do it now?
