Hi, In my opinion the stump is a bit tall, and i don't see the purpose of using wire, it just go with the line..

My guess would be that you won't get many (any?) buds low on the trunk as long as you leave that top growth intact...but I guess time will tell. You can always chop the trunk down later (next year or after) if you're not happy with the results.
