rhododendron styling HELP (newbie)
Hi,heres my rhododendron, I'mm going to style it semi cascade, with the left branch the cascade.
I know rhododendron have brittle branches,as you can see the left (cascade) branch has been pruned, leaving a dried stub.
Could I prune back the stub to the last foliage branch, make that my new leader, then
wire that branch gently down ?
Your opinions please.

Yes you can, but bear in mind you are going to have a very straight section of trunk immediatly after that quite extreme curve.

Also, this plant has attractive blooms? Right? You may want to optimize the design with that in mind. It blooms only from new growth? Right?
