Very nice, the challenge with this species is to get bloom without letting them get out of control. I have a few of these but nothing like this.

Thank you so much Mr Billy and Mr Poink88. I hope it will be quite well in 5-10 years. That's very kind of you if you give me your idea to finish it.by Poink88 on Thu Feb 02, 2012 12:55 am

Thanks Alex a lot. I didn't bend the branch. When I collect it the old owner bend this tree like this. Now I have to make it how to look the same as natural as much as possible. Maybe 5-10 years I will finish it.ogie wrote:Great tree but don't bend the branch too much needs a few more time and it will come up great thanks for sharing

(referring to the original post) - that's an amazing piece of material! How recently was it collected?

Re: New acquired material for bonsai_Wrightia religiosa
Dear Coh, Thank you for your reply. I think I collected it because of my lucky. I collected it one week ago from my friend in Vietnam. He plant this tree for 5 years from rough material and now he give it to me to continue. He bend this tree follow the Vietnam traditional bonsai trend. But I like another and I will plant this tree forward to natural trend.coh wrote:(referring to the original post) - that's an amazing piece of material! How recently was it collected?

OK, that makes more sense! I was trying to figure out where one would be able to collect something like this "in the wild". I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

I'd love to but I am also new. I will make comments though (note that it is coming from a newbie).
1. I think you need more branches, it looks like you only have 5 before the apex.
2. The branches are too "flat" and horizontal. Wire and put more movement in them.
3. Foliage is too thick, wiring should help show more of the branches and its structure.
4. The thick foliage also makes it almost impossible to make any recommendation. Take pics from under the branches to show current branch ramification. It is an extremely nice tree with great potential but you MIGHT have to go back to rebuild the branches.
Good luck!!!

Thank you Poink88, That is very kind of you. I am a newbie also. You have the same idea to me, I will build more branches. More pictures about branches will appear in April or May when I cut leaves.Poink88 wrote:I'd love to but I am also new. I will make comments though (note that it is coming from a newbie).

Depending on how you wire and spread the current branches...you might find that you have enough main branches or need less than it seems now.
