bonsai propagation:Winter jasmine
Hello to all IBC members,
The winter jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum) is native to China and it is also one of the first plants to announce the arrival of spingtime in your back yard. In bonsai-penijng, the winter jasmine is often cultivated for its strong root system, that we can associate with rocks.
The propagation of the winter jasmine is pretty easy. We can reproduce the jasmine at any moment of the year. At this time of the year, I often propagate the winter jasmines by cuttings. I just prepapre the cuttings and put them into a moist soil with sand and wait till end of March to plant the rooted cuttings in the field to accelerate their growth for a few years.

small bonsai penjing compositions to celebrate the end of wintertime.
Small winter jasmines from my studio Lotus Bonsai.
Happy holidays,
Giang

We have a jasmin ourselves in the garden. I should have a look and maybe airlayer a branch!
Kind regards
Martin
