If your thinking of growing out more traditionally styled Bonsai branches with this willow I will be curious to see how well you succeed.
The only Salix I have ever considered that approach with was Black willow, its leaves stay rather small and the growth habit is more dense and twiggy. Crack willow I believe can get leaves nearly 4 inches long
