Extensions to repair damage and thicken branches
Morning All,
This is an Ulmus Yatsubusa, which I showed last year. This year, I have spent the time growing the branches to repair some damage and thicken the branches for a better illusion of a tree.
When you look at the length of the extensions, know that this is the third time for the year I have done this and the weight of the extensions actually begins to tip the tree out of the pot.
I am also as I cut the branches, branchlets, resting them back onto the soil to rot back in. The idea being that the cuttings have what the tree needs.
Have moved up to the second branch.
Also amazing, the tree is able to densify to the point of forming a green mass. Never thought such fine leaves and twigging could become that abundant.
