New Rough Bark Trident Maple

Hey Gang,

Just wanted to show you a pic of one of my Trident Maple seedlings that has turned out to have a very nice rough bark. It's kind of unusual for Tridents to have this kind of Bark. What do ya'll think? I'm going to start propagating it next summer.

bret waltson (evergreen garden works) in california carries this. Ive been on his waiting list for a propagated cutting for 3 years now so Im not sure if its hard to propagate compared to a standard trident or not. Im jealous of your tree

In my limited experience, both 'Arakawa' and cork bark Chinese elm refuse to bud back on the trunk. Does this cultivar have the same trait?
