work in progress- nursery plant to future shohin
4 months ago, I purchased a dwarf crepe myrtle from our local landscape nursery. the bottom of the trunk looked interesting, so I figured Id try. sharing a series of pictures from then to now.

Nah, Sam, that's absolutely horrible. It's not got any potential at all. I would give up on it.
But then again, this post might just be colossal zone envy on the part a wee Scot who right now is sitting looking out at cold rain and wishing she lived in a climate that allowed her to grow crepe myrtle like that, and in only 4 months. My one and only CM didn't make it through the severe winters we've had in 2009 and 2010 even with glasshouse protection.
Looking good. Wish it was mine. Keep us posted with its further developments please.

Amazing little trees. Yours is one of the nicest I have seen. I have over 15 of that I am letting grow and develop them into Bonsais. If this is the smallest leaf, it is called Chikasaw. Nice work.
