I love the flower buds of Hawthorn just before they open.

I collected the tree in 91.
The article was written in 92/93. Can't remember if i'm honest. Got the magazine somewere.
I'm old now and this sort of thing has to be expected. You will all get there one day.

You are right Peter we dont have hawthorns here but I did encounter this specie in UK. Please look at a previous thread "Hawthorn yamadori in Wales" .

Hi Peter,

We were priveleged to have Pabling visit us in Wales for a month a year or two ago, I took him to "the secret valley" with some very old Hawthorn. Had some great trips all over we made sure Pabling seen as much as possible, even meeting Dan the man.
