Hi Will,
thanks for the report and pics. Great demo trees. I have to add that you did a great job on the deadwork. Liked the big workshop juniper too.
All the best!

Workshop with Tony and Enrico
Firstly, let me echo many of the comments on here saying what a GREAT weekend Best Of British Bonsai was - stunning trees, good banter with friends and fabulous weather. I'm sure we all appreciate the huge efforts that must go in to putting on a weekend like it - well done to all involved.
Also, thanks to Will for capturing and immortalising one of the cheesiest grins I have ever produced! I shall now counter that with something I feel is more my usual style...
I spent Saturday at the exhibition and spending my hard earned pennies at the trade stands. On Sunday, I had the pleasure of taking part in a public workshop with Tony and Enrico. I had had second, third and fourth thoughts about doing this in the run up to the day ... I have only been doing bonsai for 3 years and I'm a very private person, so this represented a significant challenge and I wasn't at all confident about it. However, having done it ... Wow! It's a great feeling to actually be an active part of a weekend such as BoBB! And I'm really pleased with the transformation of the tree I worked on....
The tree before work, as I bought it. The issues that needed addressing where the volume of foliage (too much) and the layout of the foliage (essentially one "shelf" around the middle with a dome on top).
A more normal grin from me, and you can see the foliage that came off the tree.
At the end of the workshop (five and a half hours later)
Back home in the garden
Now it's down to feeding and TLC to bring the foliage back and get the backbudding and looking forward to second styling in the future!
I would like to say a HUGE thankyou to all those people who helped with the fine wiring so that we could get the tree styled by 4.00pm, to Enrico for all the advice and the experience and to Tony for doing the styling, giving me the opportunity to do the workshop and much more besides
Already looking forward to the next BoBB
Cheers
Matt

Wait, that's not bad. You could use it as the name of your evil twin/alter ego.

Hi guys,
It was a pleasure meeting some of you last weekend (Tony, Will, Chris, Ian). Fiona, i was told that you came on the Saturday but i did not get the chance to meet you...
The show was well organized, the trees were fantastic, and the demonstrators did their best to impress
I look forward to more shows like this one
