Nice tree, and I think the hollow suited it very well.
Does it go all the way down inside the trunk?

thanks for your replies, the nebari isn't anything too special just yet, but there is something to work with. and storm, the hollow doesn't quite go all the way down at the moment, haven't made up my mind yet.
i'll get some pics up when the leaves are back.

You will need to drill a hole through to the root base to let any water pass and not collect in the trunk.
