Texas Ebony from Seed

Any suggestions for a growing medium for Texas ebony seeds?

I have a TE that is well over 15 years old in a pot. It has mean thorns and is still not a bonsai.

Just for growing seeds use a deep pot and Miracle grow Potting Mix.
They have long tap roots and need the extra depth for starting them.
I trim the tap off after a year or so.

Thanks Irene. I've got about 9 seeds that germinated and they've already got thorns on them after a week.

So, what time of year is best for planting TX. Ebony seeds in 8-9 Zones?

Dean, how did you germinate yours?

I soak mine for 24 hours in hot tap water in a sealed zip-lock then dump them all in a pot....I have done this at different times of the year and they all still germinate....

Do you have any pictures of your seedlings? I would like to see how small they are and still have thorns
