sometimes there is a fungus in the tree that can be spread to other trees by not disinfecting your tools between cuts. I spray each time with Lysol.

That doesn't look like a new cut (callus growing on edges). It is quite natural for an unsealed cut to discolor. It is NOT -- repeat NOT -- harmful.
