Well, what can I say. Are you displaying the display or the bonsai? If it's the display, then you've done a good job. Otherwise the display is TOO MUCH OF A DISTRACTION.

Hi Jim,
I like it, i see what you did.
But the table under the display is not helping the specific atmosphere though.

I love it. I think the bonsai, fills in the space of the display wonderfully. Especially when the stand is only 2 feet tall!!

Thanks all.

As for the table. You use what's there. For the IBC, I suppose I could crop it out of the picture.

Bunias: I'm not sure I understand.

I would take this criticism with a grain of salt....anonymous critic with 2 posts, a join date of today, and location of earth...

Very nice display!

I hear you John. All my small (but one that i just bought) are sticks also. I don't know about you but i have only been really into bonsai 1 year and the more i look at the trees, the more i like the smaller (one and a half feet and smaller) trees. There is just something about a nice thick trunk with good ramification. imho.

The trees are secondary in this display. That's alright if your primary concern is the stand itself, but if what you're really displaying are the trees then it's a no go.

Take it any way you like it. But you know it's true.
As for that other matter: welcome to the club, Jesse. Do you think you think that is really your picture (avatar)? I just went one step further.

Bunias, not sure who you are, what you are talking about or what your problem is. But I do know you should get off the weed.

Later weirdo, Mick.

Hello Jim,

Lovely composition.

Bunias,

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, yes, and I openly support active critique where necessary, but there's really no need to be rude and brash.
Some people confuse the use of uppercase characters in a sentence with emphasis, when in actual fact it implies SHOUTING. I presume you are aware of this.

Jim, I like your display. I have been thinking about getting a similar shelf. I can't decide on what shape I want. Where did you find your display shelf?
Best, Todd

I've had it a few years, but I think I got it from the Chicago Art Museum catalog. I have not seen it there lately, though, so I may be wrong.
