I'd look for a pot that showed a little more soil surface area and nebari, it looks very cramped to me (like a fat lady who can't wait to get out of her girdle). I think a pot with a lip would also be softer and help balance the mass of this tree. The pot needs depth, but it doesn't need to be so chunky.

This is a pot of mine, I'm not saying that it's the solution but an option to start the discussion. It's probably too soft, especially the feet.



I'm eager to see other opinions.

I've done a quick virtual with a partly "altered/damaged" pot from Klaudia.
I tried to select a pot that is suitable for the tree with leaves too.
