I agree Tony, Dan and Ci created some beautiful pots and could not resist a few myself, it was nice to see them both again at a major bonsai show

So many different. What an imagination. Of course you bought a few...wow who could resist,eh.
So would it be uncouth to ask the price range??

Alot of them seem like ocean going creatures should live in them. Is that a big influence on your Work Dan?

Hm, is it just me or do some of those really look like HH pots?

We are blessed in europe to have potters like Dan and Horst, and you could add names to that list all day long!

Dan and Ci's pots are beautiful, individual and inspirational. It was seeing Dan's pots years ago that got me into ceramics, even had the pleasure of seeing them in the flesh, stone, at Dan's place back in 2005.
Keep doing what you do Dan it was good to see you and Ci at the show
Kind regards
Andy

Ah that yellow one rightfully displayed up high on a stand! I can only imagine what it looks like in real life. I can imagine leaving it empty as it would be enough by itself, but if someone could find the right planting for it, wow.

I think you may have it the other way round..... never have I ever copied anyone else's pots..... I don't need to as I'm never short of ideas but I have been the victim of innumerable plagiarists, but then, someone once said that mimicry is the best form of flattery. I'm staggered that you ever made the suggestion!

The clay usually suggests to me the way it wants to be worked. I am not consciously aware of oceanic influence .... the pots just happen to work out the way they do as I don't try to pursue any prescriptive end, just a 'felt' moment in time. What I try to say with my pots is: "feel my touch, touch my feeling" .

Hi Andy,
Kind comments and as I mentioned to you at Birmingham; " if you continue to progress in your pot making the way you have.... then I better watch my back!!!"

Thanks for your kind comments.... it has taken me over 25 years to perfect an 'in your face' yellow glaze that can withstand stoneware temperatures. Yellow goes well with blue flowered accent plants.

I imagine Bigsteve must be Steve McK..! Ci and I thoroughly enjoyed the event and the opportunity to meet up again with so many old friends. We have been very busy with a host of other things but will very soon get stuck into pot making again in readiness for the Joy of Bonsai event scheduled for next Spring in Bath, UK. So watch this space!
cheers,
Dan

The prices range from GB£2 — GB£35 but mostly average out at about GB£7. You can see many more of our pots on the web pages below:

G, day Dan and Ci.
I can only reiterate what has been said here. Except that when I was there last month all were pre-sold so I did not have, ( or should that be do not) have the pleasure of a of a Dan Barton pot here in Australia.
Keep up the good work Dan it is obviously appreciated, best to you and Ci from Sue and Derek.
Ps has he sent that stone yet?
