elm question
MY Elms now have no leaves..on one of them it was suggested i shorten the apex branches...could i do this now since i can see every branch???would it be better to wait till early spring??? what about die back on these branches??? just a thought...thanks for a response..take care john ( i am cold) 4 inches of snow!!

hi jim,,This is the thee you said needed the apex shorten some when i posted it in leaf.. i can just see the branches now and am getting them ready for the little greenhouse..how long of a stub???thank you take care john

However long you want it. It depends on the space between buds. 1/8 inch. 1/4 inch. It doesn't matter.
Choose one. All you want is to buffer the bud from any possible dieback. But you don't need calipers.
