Ochana integerrima
Hi all, I would like to introduce a tree which always remind people about Tet holiday - a traditional holiday in Vietnam. And its name is Mai. Scientific name is Ochana integerrima. In VN, especially in the cetre of VN, Mai Vàng (yellow pental flowers) is the popular tree. and they are planted everywhere for decorative. some special and beautiful of them are used for making bonsai. They are no longer a wild tree. Mai is considered a thing that bring to their boss lucky and happily. So people always hope they will strong and bloomy in the first day of year. In VN, the most popular type of Mai is Mai Vàng Nam Cánh (five-yellow-petals flowers).

This is the bloomy one and was put in every house for tet holiday
Besides, in Tet holiday, we also make a lot of traditional food and cake, such as: Cylindric glutinous rice cake (filled with green bean paste and fat pork) - bánh tét, glutinous rice cake (filled with meat or green bean paste), three-cornered patty - Bánh Ít.... and a lot, a lot of beautiful custom

Thanks for sharing,i wouldn't mind getting one :)is it a hard wood specie?

Nice trees and lovely flowers...
