Hardiness zones, tree range maps, etc.
While it is the 1990 map and not the new USDA hardiness zone map -- which has been "due out very soon now" for several years -- this page may be of use to most of us. The main, interactive, map is for North American, but there are tree range maps available near the bottom of the page as well as other hardiness zone maps for other parts of the world. http://www.plantmaps.com/usda_hardiness_zone_map.php
Here's the 2006 version that the Bush administration refused to publish because it showed how climate zones were moving north: http://www.arborday.org/media/zones.cfm
You can download a high resolution copy of the map there, too as well as see a graphic on how and where the changes occurred. (US only, here, I'm afraid. I don't know if other areas have a similar project under way.)
The new version whenever it shows up should have even more change.
