I know this one can be eaten and has been eaten for millennia. 20 raw mushrooms can kill but smaller amounts have been used as an intoxicant. Drink the urine of an animal, or someone that has eaten this mushroom, and you will be just as intoxicated as them. Think I'll give that one a miss.

Mushrooms and toadstools as they are called here, come under the name of Fungus or Fungi (plural), pronounced Fun Guy. More of a play on words than a joke... eh Fiona.
There's another one, that could be work related ( Staff versus management) where you say "I'm being treated like a mushroom"..........Kept in the dark and fed bulls**t.

Re: Yellow Shrooms.
Oh, understand.
There isn´t possibly a sexual allusion in it, such as: "If you have too much fun, guy, you may get yourself some fungi" ?
Hopefully not stating the obvious

Re: Yellow Shrooms.
Some cracking pics in this thread. Kudos to those concerned.
I recently saw 'fungi' being used as accents and thought it looked pretty nifty, so I'd appreciate any advice on the best way of growing them. F'rinstance, where would one obtain Fly Agaric spores, assuming you'd never seen one in the wild and didn't know where/have the time to look?
BTW, this request has nothing whatsoever to do with my recent wife-based aggravation. Honest!
And sorry Will, but there's no chance of me accidentally eating any either, I hate the damn things. Can't see why people want to eat mould anyway.

Growing fly agarics are going to be really tricky as they grow symbiotically with trees so recreating it in the lab is very hard. All the conditions need to be perfect for it to happen. One way of trying to get a mushroom to grow is to mash the mushroom up in water and pour on the ground and hope for the best.
I don't come across fly agarics that often but i've seen more this year than ever. we took a spore print of one for a nature project with my son. That is just putting the mushroom on a piece of paper over night just to see the colour and shape of the print. if i come across any more this year I'll send them to you to try and do some thing with.
taking cutting of mushrooms can be done by taking a slice of a growing mushroom and growing on some agar. it all has to be very clean at the beginning stage .
Some mushrooms prove near impossible to grow by the experts.
