Re: i created something weird for art sake
Hi Jun, you are sure raising the bar in the controversy stakes.... lets see how long this will run... is it art?... is it bonsai?... is it sacrilegious to pots or Bonsai personally this is as much art as This Marcel Duchamp would love it... as for the tree... it looks OK

Upon seeing this one during the photo session. my 3 year old adorable daughter shouted at me "oh my god daddy! your pot and rock got entangled...your rock is too heavy!!" at least she got some impression right. i'm satisfied.

Re: i created something weird for art sake
Interesting concept - very explorative but to my eye something is not working with it.
I wonder how it would look with the pot parallel to horizion? Might be more believable.

What's to be done. The rock just happen to grew through the pot.

How about trying to cover the pot and parts os the stone with moss?

Rob,
thanks.
actually i am in the process of working on that similar concept, with the pot in slightly horizontal position but the rock is in a vertical position with cascade tree. as if the pot broke and slide down the rock, the tree is not that matured yet though. il post it soon. that idea wont work for this one i posted, the bottom of this rock is not wide enough to act as stand/base, problem with stability. here i capitalized on the pot position to make the piece stand.

Re: i created something weird for art sake
Really good.
Is it the same stone that really goes through the pot that you broke?
Just an idea, maybe even if the composition is inclined the tree should raise more ?
Last question, how do you water it?

Mike,
thanks for the visual! i appreciate it much.
the broken pot would work, but the bigger portion of it must be in the bottom area, it also serve as the stand for the composition.

Quatrefi,
thanks,
actually im trying to lower the tree more, instead of raisin it up. full cascade. my full vision is for the portion of the foliage and branch to engulf some portion of the pot...as in a shari (this time its the pot ), jin, and the rock being mixed up, like in some typical composition where the deadwood penetrates some foliage portion and penetrates way beyond the apex.
"how do you water it?"- happily!
...fine spray.
