Not that I wouldn't truly be afeared of Tropical Storm Fiona, what the heck happened to Earl? I heard he was bashing the Northern Carribean Islands and impacting the Eastern US.

Earl's still around. It's a class 3 storm now (125+- mph winds). It's going to spoil a lot of Labor Day outings as it brushes the coast of North Carolina (the Outer Banks) today and tomorrow and heads for the Jersey/New York/Cape Cod area on the weekend -- probably somewhat diminished by then, but still a big one. Eastern Canada will get a lot of rain next week.

Fiona appears to be playing second fiddle and will stay out in the Atlantic Ocean whirling around and doing her thing to the shipping lanes.

It looks like it will miss western part of NJ where I am. Regardless, I am ready to put all trees inside if need be. Now NY will be a different story.
