Hi, John:

Hope things are well in your corner in West Virginia...Many years ago I tried unsuccessfully to train a deciduous azalea (salmon-colored blooms)...it was a short-lived affair for myself and the tree. Since then I have not tried any deciduous cultivars.

I believe the Exbury and Gibraltar deciduous cultivars were developed in the U.K...if memory serves me there are wonderful and spectacular displays of the species in Kew Gardens in London.

Keep us posted regarding this effort.

Regards,
Tom
