Re: Pyracantha Coccinea
Excellent!
Congratulations on your work and on recording it!
Could you kindly quote one or two things that you consider to be of importance for growing pyracantha for bonsai.
I have had one failure with a good quality nursery stock.... I love these trees!
I read here https://ibonsaiclub.forumotion.com/bonsai-questions-f7/collected-pyracantha-care-don-t-want-to-over-water-them-t3785.htm that they do not like their roots to be disturbed and they do like water.
Thank you!

Sankofabonsai,
Nice tree. I believe I saw this tree in Taisho-En, a working nursery in Shizuoka, property of Nobuichi Urushibata. Mr. Urushibata, as well as his son Taiga are well known for shohin bonsai. I think the first pictures are from his workshop area.
Again, great progression. Thanks for posting.
Kind regards,
Jose Luis

Re: Pyracantha Coccinea
That's a great tree. Love the development. Wonderful fruiting also.
You also have a serious quantity of wire in those racks.

I rarely post but just wanted to thank you for sharing your tree with us.
It makes my day seeing an inspirational, well documented bonsai progression in it's various stages.
Cheers.

Re: Pyracantha Coccinea
i have a little poor pyracantha bonsai that was given to me as a gift, but shortly after finding that all the leafs atarted to go brown and die i was recommended to repot it, i carefully removed it from the pot, and believe it may have root rot as the roots are brown, but i cannot de-tangle the roots to repot it, can somebody pls help me.

Re: Pyracantha Coccinea
Styrax, your issue seems to be being already addressed in your post on the other forum board. Rather than try to move this post across which can be tricky, can I ask people wishing to help Styrax to do so on https://ibonsaiclub.forumotion.com/bonsai-questions-f7/pyracantha-foilage-t3914.htm That way it keeps all his information tidily in one place, and doesn't impinge on Sankofabonsai's thread.
