Hello everyone this is my Wisteria. I was hoping that someone could help me identify the exact species? I hope you can see the pictures.

Thank you,

Nick

P.S.
The date is really 3-22-09 I did not set the camera.

Looks like Japanese wisteria to me. Attach a chopstick to one of the branches and allow a new shoot to grab hold. If the shoot twines clockwise, its Japanese.

A few years back I did some looking and came to understand the sinensis variety begins to flower before the leaf buds open. Mine do that, so I concluded that's what I have (but I could be all wrong). Unfortunately, their provenance was "dug out of a jungle next to my parent's garage in South Jersey" so I don't have any hard data.

Just successfully forced one to take to an art show opening last Sunday.

You can view the six week process of budding at my PBase Gallery.
It could use some major reduction to be more bonsai-like, but I'm mostly after the flowers. I have four plants that get cycled through for this early spring art show, so mayhaps I can force this guy to bud back over the next couple of years.
