Large Hawthorn Yamadori

This will make an impressive tree , but due to circumstances i am reluctantly willing to part with this yamadori . Collected in 2008 it has established roots in fact they almost fill the pot, the hieght is 110cm 43.5 inches, the nebari width 400cm 16 inches the circumference of the trunk at the base is 36cm 14 inches this tapers to 11cm 4.25 inches at the top . As you can see from the close up pictures i have started the ramification process and the tree is responding vigorously if anyone is interested please email me for details

Hello Bear. Looks like a good candidate for airlayering the top third.

Why waste such a good natural nebari , the reason i collected this tree was the nebari and the nice tapering of the trunk , it seems short squat trees are the fashion at this time , this tree has the potentiol to be a classic informal upright regards Brian

oops sorry Will , when it comes to hawthorn yamadori i can collect over 32 sq miles of countryside not short of trees to collect so when i find one like this it never occurs to me , i like to try and keep them as they grew in nature regards Brian

If I wasn't across the pond I'd be throwin' elbows to get in this line. And since I don't have good hawthorn collecting grounds I would probably turn it into two trees like Will was thinking. It is very nice material. Good luck Bobby.
