First Styling wild olive
This morning I worked on a very old olive, the olive was found two
years ago and since then I'm cutting it very short. This is the outcome
after several hours of work on the olive.

Gorgeous. Looks like either side would have done for a front too.
I'd love to have an Olive but don't think our winters would be in its favour, especially now after having lost a lovely myrtle over this vile winter we've had.
What height is the tree, Moshe?

Hi Fiona
True, more than one front, we always want to have more than one front to choose from,
In this case, I think it's clear what is the front.
The tree's height 45 cm

We are lucky to have such a species available in this part of the world (mediterranean area). Its characteristics, features, ease for cultivation in a pot and the fact that it is very forgiving to aggressive treatment makes it perfect for bonsai.

Very impressive tree, and very good styling too.
Do you plan to "bleach out" the dead wood with lime sulphur as is often the case with most bonsai we see from Italy, Spain or France, or will you choose a more natural way for it to show signs of aging?

HI ALAINK
I do not think that I will use lime Sulfor, in this case, I like to emphasize the center, dark wood,
poacal point, the old TRUNK IS full of holes Gives a more dramatic dimension.

Re: First Styling wild olive
I agree with you : I like trees that look natural, and this one has an exceptional hollow trunk, it would be a pity to make it look artificial.
Good luck with it!
Good luck with it!
