A very good display, I enjoyed looking through the pictures there are some excellent trees in their, many thanks for posting Walter. Certainly looks like one of the best displays I've seen on the web and a very modern take on bonsai display.... which works!

What an interesting display! I would think it was actually better attended than it looks...? With that kind of bonsai on display, I would think it would be packed.
I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite... there were so many wonderdful choices!
Kindest regards,
Victrinia
PS. Which one(s) were yours? I had a few picks in that area.... just wondering if I got it right at all...lol

What a display!!
Beautiful bonsai beautifully presented. Nice to see trees such as the Birch in there too. Was there many other deciduous trees? Seems a very high percentage of Conifer bonsai, but I suppose that's to be expected when it's of this standard.
Thanks for taking the time to post these, this is why I love this forum.

Victrinia,
unfortunately I did not exhibit anything. The registration was EIGHT months ago. And I missed it. So none of my trees, but two days full of tree critiques by WP about somebody else's trees. The tree critiques were 'official', of course.; I was invited to do them, which was a great honor for me.
I was delighted to see quite a few trees that I wold have liked to have done myself in that style. So something IS changing in Europe.
Tim,
The plain background in most cases is better than a scroll. I have nothing against scrolls as long as they are sparsely used and very well chosen. I think a very traditional tree should well have scroll in many cases. I wonder about a modern or naturalistic tree.

Interesting... I thought for sure that at least one of them had to be yours...lol It says a lot about your influence, and the overall influence of many artists who tend to have a natrualistic bent.

Walter,
Is there a birch amongst those? A little hard to tell, but I think there's a very nice example. If so, what species?

HI WALTER
This convesion really looks great, the winds of change are blowing, I loved
the way they presented the trees, and of course the lighting on the bonsai.

I can recognise two excellent pines, one from Thierry Font, and another from Dino Salacione. Also Abies from Nicola Crivelli is good. I do not know who are owners of taxus and olive tree, which is quite surprise, because it is not shaped like 90% other bonsai olives. I like that.

The owner of the Taxus is Ivo Sapotiti from Italy...I think it won the award for the best tree of the show.

Walter,
I've scoured the net for good examples to give me an idea of what to do with mine. That is by far the best example I've seen. Would have loved to have seen it in person.

Hi Walter,
Thanks for posting these pictures. It looks like it was an excellent show, and I really like the venue; what a great way to display the trees.
