Spruce Pinching Empty Spruce Pinching

Does anyone pinch the new growth on spruce(Picea abies )? some people said yes and some said no

When it's at the stage where the pale green new growth is egg shaped, pinch the end and gently pull out about one third to a half. That's what I do with mine.
