Constructed a replacement stand for my W.Pine.
I loathed the old table I used for displaying my Pine so set to work with some free Hardwood (old door frames, removed during a refit) They came from a skip...amazing what some will throw away, must have cost hundreds of pounds. Anyway, glued and screwed for X-members then bolted everything together sealing hidden surfaces to protect against damp. Coated with five layers of sadolin ebony, which is a bit stark black right now but will tone down nicely in coming weeks once feebie has done her job.
Hope you think it is OK. A bonsai buddy was impressed when he called in today for a brew, so much so he has commissioned me to make one for him. Must be worth a bag of Akadama and a bacon sandwich at the very least.
Existing display table (if you can call it that). On completion and prior to machine sanding and five coats of sadolin. Finally in place in the bonsai display house. I'm now going to make another for my Beech forest group which is at the other end. Once all the leaves are out and I have done some basic changes I will post up. So, for now, my bonsai display stand with a 'pergola' feel. No plans, just evolved as I went along.

Good job. It looks loads better. I am using some unsightly home made benches so, I feel the pain.
The new table is very nice. Good size too.

Joe

I think the result speaks for itself ! And I really like the stand attached to the fence. Beautiful trees are the finish.

Would really appreciate it if you could post the plans or building materials details for this stand. I have some extra large trees that I'm going to need some nice stands for and this fits the bill. Really nice work.

Hi Michael
if you look under the link for my site you will find other images. No plans I'm afraid, just from my head and hands.
