Philadelphia Flower Show Bonsai '09
So I figured I'd post a few of the pics I snapped today. Here is a LINK here for the entire folder.
These first few are from the Rosade Studio in New Hope Pa.
These are The PA Bonsai Society

It would have been nice if Chase had cleaned that thuja up a bit before displaying it.

I think he did repot it. I cant remember what it was in when Salvatore worked on it(eventhough I helped lug it around---it was heavy!!!).

I had been there the week before the show when they were getting things together. I think they had a late start. A few of the trees were said to be not ready. I'm happy with what they showed though I also thought it could have used a little more attention. I think it made the trees look more personal though. People seemed happy with it to0. The one gentlemen had many people asking questions and watching him thin out what I think was a Ponderosa. I can't remember...

The Trident maple
Am I wrong to guess that the trident was made of a wire basket with many trees attached at the base and wired together???

I don't believe so. Looks like a field grown and chopped tree. Has that wire basket technique taken off on the east coast of the US?
Sure would like to see a little more wire on most of these trees.

I haven't seen much of it. But I'm aware that some member of this forum have used it.
