hawthorn advice
I found some hawthorn growing in a small field that will be pushed up within the next week.. would they surive if i dug some now??? it is cold and looking for some snow. what do you think??? thanks john w. va.

If they're gonna die anyway. . . . Normally, this is an OK time of year to dig trees. If you can keep the newly dug trees out of the wind you'll probably be OK.

Thank You Jim,, seems like you are the only one that answers my post.. I think i will dig a couple and see if they make it.I will only have a sore back but whats new about that.. thanks again,, john

Hawthorn Advice
Hawthorns are subject to various infections. While they are still dormant, use a dormant spray, like lime sulphur. Then inspect them frequently.
