Fused ficus
This is the tree I have been working on the longest, and the only one that really amounts to much. I picked this up from wall-mart 2 years ago as a pot full of 10-12 small trees which I fused together. I took this picture quickly before I had to run home to get my wisdom teeth pullled.
I finally got all the main branches wired but now i need to work on leaf reduction ramification and some shortening of a few branches to get a better shape.

Re: Fused ficus
Nice job. Most fused Ficus just look conFUSED. This one seems to work.
But those wires . . . are they doing anything? They look pretty thin to actually be holding any bends.

They are a little thin but beforehand these branches were straight as an arrow. I would have used larger wires but I dont have much that are bigger and I couldn't work those in the tight spaces very well.

Hmmmmmm
Axually Jon...you just gave me an idea of what to do with the 3 ficus cuttings my maid stuck in the garden last winter. Yours looks very nice, love to see it after a little more work and maybe leaf reduction.

From my limited experience, I found that standard F. benjamina foliage reduces very easily if you keep pinching at it, but ramification is hit-or-miss. I got the best results from pinching on my granddaughter's rubber plant.

Re: Fused ficus
Thanks for the comments on the tree. I know its still got a ways to go but its sure nice to have your first tree starting to look like something and hearing kind words about it.
