Ficus salicaria bonsai: Leafing out after total defoliation
The defoliation was done in March (not the ideal month) because we had to shoot the process and explain defoliation for a zoom meeting for our bonsai club. Usually I defoliate after the spring growth has hardened off i.e. late May early June. Ficus salicaria new leaves have a beautiful bronze colour. Â Subsequently, the colour turns light green and then dark green as chlorophyll pigment builds up.
