Overgrown shohin_Yew
Species: Taxus baccata
Height: 25 cm from the rim of the pot
Pot: Klika and Kuratkova ( I guess )
Origin: Garden center
I know, not very typical shape for a yew in the world of bonsai. I hope this is a kind of a refreshing change perhaps...
It still does look too young to depict the ancient tree I have in mind. Need to work on it...
Front
The other side. It looks maybe a bit smaller and more compact from this side. And less regimented as well. What do you think?
I have really spent a lot of time carving this uro so do not even think about critisizing it ...

Hey Vlad,
THe tree has a nice trunk, and decent roots. However, to me it feels too symmetrical. Normally, you try to avoid having branches left and right at the same height. You however have disks of foliage all around at multiple levels. I would thin dit a little so you have more breaks in the canopy, and not such an even left-right mirror image.

Hi Leatherback, thank you for your comments.
Few deep breaths and now...
Frankly?
I will skip majority of the Change curve stages to get to the final one: symmetrical or regimented - the tree doesn't look the way it should/could. And I have to say: Sorry for presenting such poorly styled tree. . I was just too eager to present the tree to the forum even though I have realised after taking the photo the tree badly needs better styling.
Fair comment, leatherback. Once more- thank you for that.
As I have written on my blog the upright format of this little tree is a reminder of an acient, majestic yew I saw many years ago. This is to say it will stay upright without any additional dead wood. Thats the limits I have to work with.
I will share the update once I have restyle it. But first I need to finish my new flat root stand.
