Controlling Pitch Pine Trunk Sprouts
Pitch pine are famous for back-budding off of the trunk. I have one where this is actually a nuisance to me. There are whole areas on the lower trunk butt that are full of annoying sprouts. I scrape them off, but they come back in a few months. Is there a technique for preventing these, such as torch burning the area or something, that anyone knows of?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Controlled fondling, there is no other way to stop this other than killing the tree. What's so difficult about rubbing off these little buds? I don't come close to understanding your point.
