Re: Ficus coreana Wood from clippings
It has been 4 weeks almost to the day, here an update. The new growth is pumping new leaves everywhere, most of the old cut leaves are fallen off and back butting is in full swing. The moss is lush, roots are developing nicely some root tips are going through the moss too. Project works, happy me.
The growing time here is quit fast, new candles will be clipped on the branch tips as the branches reach the desired length.
I don't know If you can see it on the last picture, but there are 6 new tips growing on this branch alone.

some of the planting "pockets" appear a bit un-natural when they protrude from the planting surface,
but none-the-less, a very ambitious planting...
was the wood treated in any way to prevent decay ?
if you have youtube in indo, you should check out the videos by john geanangel
he does some plantings like this that are kinda sorta okay...
(actually they are pretty great !)

@ beer city snake thank you for the review, correct observation on the pockets, as soon the roots are fully grown and start showing and the leaves go for the second de foliating, this will be fixed. It is my first attempt so still have to think more about it, and be less in a hurry.
That wood is hard as hell, I had it in my tank for 12 years and after that blown, it hide in the garden, as you can see I used the pressure cleaner and it looks like new. That will stay a decade for sure.
Thanks for the tip on youTube, will definitely inhale it, because I still got some planning on big rocks in the near future.

Re: Ficus coreana Wood from clippings
well, if that was your first attempt, just disregard anything i have to say !!!
except that i will repeat: ambitious - especially for a first attempt.
one thing to keep in mind though is that wood can last for centuries if kept underwater but it will be the exposure to air that will cause it to decay (but i imagine you already know this from treasure hunting) - and a decade is not long in bonsai time
by the way - the name is kevin

True words, but I believe that it will take a while to do so, by then I have found a suitable rock
