Progress of a Rhododendron impeditum 'Moerheim' since 2010

2010 i could digg out some Rhodendron. They have grown 40 years in a garden.


The tree has grown wild in a garden with deep gras. So the single stems got no light and the leafs grew only on the end of the branches.




In spring 2011 i repoted the tree and planted him in a new position. On the Picture the single stems look good.
But in truth it did not look good. It was too much.


In autumn 2011 a strong wind has blown down the tree and the pot broke. So i hat to plant him in a new pot. The tree is not weak, it is the colour of the leafes in winter.


2012 i startet to reduce some stems. The crown was too heavy. I want to make a windswept tree.


With leaves the crown is still too heavy.


2014 i startet to reduce some more stems.


2015 the tree was plantet in a new position and he got a new pot from Tom Benda.  The picture is from spring 2016.

In the coming years, the branches will be refined and improved the structure.
