Evening All I love you
I have been having a hard time trying to figure out troubles ive had recently (Last 2 weeks) with my Chinese Elm/Ulmus Parvvifolia.

DETAILS (in short)
Species: Chinese Elm / Ulmus Parvifolia
Age: Unknown exactly, purchased as a young tree 3 months ago.
Problem: Dry, papery patches on green leaves, also heavy dry wilting of leaves.
Actions Already Taken: Generous watering, exposure to window light and increasing distance from grow light.
Info: About half of 80 (approx) leaves have dried and fallen off in the last 14 days.
Unsure if it is an issue of
1. watering by spray and its not been efficient water penetration as the under soil was very dry.
2. Incorrect dilution of bonsai feed. I purchased Pokon - Bonsai Plant food 250ml. I reckon I put 20ml approx into a 500ml water spray bottle. ( 5ml to 1Ltr recommendation.) affraid
3. Close proximity to grow light. 300w CFL Dual Spectrum Lamp, claims that it will not burn plants even at 3cm distance away Question I have my lamp about 18 inches from the shelf floor, Miyagi is about 10 inches tall.
4. Climate, I built a shelve in a walking in cupboard that hold my boiler. I have monitored the temperature spectrum and it is sustained between 17°C & 26°C over 24hrs.
5. Perhaps its the temp change between the shelf (17°c -26°c) to the window (10°c to 14°c), or the CFL lighting to natural sunlight exposure.

Issues Ruled Out: No signs of Aphids, mites or adult Weevil parasites, but not uprooted the plant to check roots for its larva.

Please If anyone can provide any help or knowledge to what it is im doing wrong would be much appreciated Shocked

Does the soil drain well? It looks heavy in the pictures.

I'd get that out of the pot it's in and into a far bigger and deeper pot to let it recover and grow.

Do you ever escape from the frozen tundra to the Paisley/Glasgow area? If so, drop me a message.
