Japenese Black Pine
I have to repot my JBP, it has not been repotted in 6 yrs, but I also need to do candling and some small branch removal. Can I do both in the same season. I am in San Antonio, Texas zone 8

I am NOT a pine expert, but I'd say it is MUCH too late to repot in SanAntonio unless you are an Expert w/ a capital E.

You can definitely repot and decandle in the same season if the tree is healthy...but Jim is correct in that it's probably too late to repot in your location.

Yes, listen to the guys, too late to repot.
Here I repot pines early, @ March 1 with good results. Considering the difference in our weather when would my March 1 fall on you calendar? First part of January? I've read that the guys in the warm parts of CA start repotting at new year.
Decandle this year as long as the tree is vigorous.
Best,
Augustine
