Help identify scales on Juniper
Hello,
Please help me identify this pest, and how I can get rid of it.
The plant is Juniper expansa 'Parsonii'.
Thank you very much.

Help identify scales on Juniper
Try a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol...might need to repeat several times.

Yup. Or an oil spray -- tho it may be a bit late in the year for an oil spray, judging from the temperatures we've had here today -- almost 90 degrees F.
No point in IDing the scale. They're all nasty critters -- tho they won't kill your tree.

Re: Help identify scales on Juniper
did it turn into slime, that ran up and down the trunk, on cold rainy days?

No
There are little scales between the leaves. It didn't turn into slime.
Somebody told me it's Mealy Bugs, but I don't think it is.
Anyway, I sprayed it with mineral oil, and I will check again in a few days.
Thank you,
Yaron.
